Reproductive Health

We believe that lifetime health starts before a pet is even born! Dr. Kristina Baltutis is passionate about reproductive medicine (also called theriogenology) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Theriogenology. To learn more about Dr. Kristina, please visit her website.

We also believe that the choice to breed your dog or cat is not one to be taken lightly. We want to work with you to ensure that your puppies are as healthy as they can possibly be, which will set them up for a lifetime of love with their future family. We expect our clients to be Good Breeders, as defined by the Good Dog Code of Ethics. Breeding dogs can be incredibly rewarding, but it is also a lot of work! We would be honored to be your partner in this endeavor.

We strive to provide high quality reproductive care in the comfort of your home. For those services not offered in our mobile setting (i.e. c-sections, semen freezing, transcervical insemination), we have formed partnerships with a number of excellent brick-and-mortar practices which are able to fill this need. Through these partners, we are able to offer a comprehensive reproductive health service, including breeding soundness examinations, health testing, breeding management, semen collection, insemination, pregnancy management, whelping assistance, and neonatal care. If there is a service that interests you, which you do not see listed, please contact us.

Wellness Care

Wellness Care, also called Preventive Care, is the key to a long, healthy life for your pet! This includes making sure your pet gets a full nose-to-tail exam by a veterinarian once or twice a year (depending on their health), stays up-to-date on their lifestyle-appropriate vaccines, and stays on preventatives to protect them again fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. It may also include diagnostics like bloodwork, a fecal evaluation, or a urine evaluation, depending on your pet’s age and health. All of these services are available through Well Bred Veterinary Mobile Services, which operates a franchise of Heal House Call Veterinarian. We also offer additional services such as pet weight-loss plans and behavioral analysis.

Want a way to provide the best care for your pet and also have predictable costs? We are very excited to offer the Heal+ Preventive Care Plan through PetFirst pet insurance. This plan provides preventive care, a safety net, and predictable costs. It includes the following…

Hospice Care and Euthanasia

Our pets fill our lives with joy and love, and managing their end-of-life care is always a heartbreaking challenge. We strive to give our pets the best life possible, and that includes giving them a peaceful and respectful death.

Hospice Care – As your pet nears the end of their life, our goal is often to prioritize comfort and freedom from suffering in their final weeks or months. Often there are interventions which can improve your pet’s quality of life, such as medication for pain relief, appetite stimulants, or techniques to improve their mobility. An individualized hospice care plan starts with a thorough discussion of your pet’s lifestyle and a physical examination. Although it is often impossible to know when it’s the “right time” to say your final goodbye, we are here to help you make that decision when the time comes.

Euthanasia – Your pet will first receive a dose of medication which will sedate them and relieve any pain they may be feeling. After this medication has taken effect, we will proceed with gentle euthanasia. You have the option of receiving a clay pawprint keepsake, made onsite. As a courtesy, we will also notify any other veterinarians involved in your pet’s care that your pet has passed.

Communal Cremation – If you do not wish to bury your pet at home or you are unable to do so, you may elect to have your pet cremated. Communal cremation is an option for families who do not wish to have their pet’s ashes returned to them. All cremations are done through Pet Angel Memorial Center, and the ashes are respectfully spread on a local family homestead.

Private Cremation – This is an option for families who wish to have their pet’s ashes returned to them. With this option, your pet is the only pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. Pet Angel Memorial Center offers a variety of memorial products to help you remember your beloved pet. After the cremation process is complete, your pet’s ashes are hand-delivered to your home.

Telehealth

Heal House Call Veterinarian (owned and operated by Well Bred Veterinary Mobile Services) offers remote healthcare services with TeleVet! With the TeleVet mobile app you can easily send virtual consultation requests whenever your pet is sick or injured.

To get started, download the TeleVet app on the iTunes or Google Play store and create your personal profile and your pets (pictures encouraged!). When you need us, create a consultation request detailing your pet’s issue. Upload any pictures or videos, instant message, and/or talk with us face to face through a video conference call to help get your pet feeling better again.

This service is only available for current clients and patients of Heal House Call Veterinarian – Well Bred Veterinary Mobile Services. To be current, a patient must have had a physical examination within the last six months. If a patient has not had a physical examination by Dr. Kristina Baltutis within the last six months, we are able to help you decide if your pet needs to be evaluated by a veterinarian, but your pet can NOT be treated via the TeleVet app.
